There are Four paths to earn your Basic Life Support Instructor Certification.

Path One: If you are currently certified as a BLS Instructor by AHA or HSI , you should take advantage of the Red Cross “Bridge” Program. That program allows you to apply and be awarded the ARC BLS Instructor Certification based on your Basic Life Instructor Certification by AHA or HSI. Cost BLS BRIDGE is FREE. You will then be certified to teach ARC BLS Instructor Class!

Path Two If you are currently Certified as a FA/CPR/AED Instructor by ARC, AHA or HSI with a solid background and current qualification as a BLS provider, you should take advantage of the Red Cross “Bridge” Program. That program allows you to apply and be awarded the BLS Instructor Certification based on your CPR Instructor Qualification and your Basic Life Support background. Cost BLS BRIDGE is FREE. You will then be certified to teach both ARC FA/CPR/AED AND ARC BLS Instructor Classes!

Path Three: If you have no Instructor qualifications, but have solid BLS background and current qualification as a BLS or FA/CPR/AED provider, take the ARC FA/CPR/AED Instructor Class. Then use Path two to gain BLS Instructor Certification. COST is $360 for the FA/CPR/AED Course. BLS Bridge FREE. You will then be certified to teach both ARC FA/CPR/AED AND ARC BLS Instructor Classes!!

Path four: (Rare choice but doable). If you have no Instructor qualifications, but have a solid BLS background and current qualification as a BLS provider, and you have no interest in being Certified as FA/CPR/AED Instructor, locate a BLS Instructor Trainer. They can teach you the BLS Instructor course. COST is about $360 for the ARC BLS Instructor Class. You will then be certified to teach the ARC BLS Instructor Class.
LTRGV does not have a BLS Instructor Trainer on staff.
